Page boxes, briefly
- MediaBox — the whole page, including any bleed and marks.
- CropBox — what PDF viewers show. If not set, it equals the MediaBox.
- TrimBox — the finished size after cutting.
- BleedBox — the printed area including bleed.
- ArtBox — the meaningful content (optional, rarely used for print).
The finished size is taken from the TrimBox when it is set, otherwise from the CropBox or MediaBox. Pages with identical boxes are grouped, so a long book shows as one row. Page rotation and UserUnit (which scales the page) are taken into account and shown.
Enter your finished size to compare every page with it. A page equal to finished size plus bleed is recognised.

- Why does my PDF have different page sizes?
- Common causes: a cover spread or fold-out saved in the same file, pages placed from other documents, or scanned pages. Printers usually need one size per file.
- My viewer shows A4 but the printer says the size is wrong. Why?
- Viewers show the CropBox. Printers may use the TrimBox or MediaBox, which can be different. The table shows all of them.
- Does it check bleed?
- It shows the BleedBox and TrimBox. To check bleed against a requirement, use the Bleed & Trim Checker.
